Chair Yoga Fall Session 2
with Glenda Brooks
Chair yoga is especially suitable for older adults, people with balance or coordination issues, and those with disabilities. Chair yoga helps increase flexibility, lung capacity, circulation and strength, Improves balance and relieves stress. The class incorporates breathing exercises, stretching, yoga postures, and final relaxation.

Tai Chi Session 1
with Daniel Hall
Daniel Hall teaches Tai Chi for the Community Education Department at DACC. He has been a martial arts practitioner for 40+ years, focusing on the internal Chinese art of Tai Chi, as well as the arts of Hsing –I and Bagua. He has studied a variety of Chi-gung and Nei-gung systems and is also a certified Clear Tai Chi™ Level 1 instructor, Clear Tai Chi™ Internal Push Hands™ Level 1 Instructor andhas completed levels 1-4 of Clear Tai Chi™ (Fa Kung) Chi Healing training. As a Kinesiotherapist at the Danville VA, Dan taught Tai chi and Nei-gung for health and for stress reduction to Veterans for several years until retiring in 2020. He taught these skills to Veterans with a wide variety of physical and mental health issues, as ways of coping with the stresses and difficulties of life.

Internal Push Hands Session 1

Internal Push Hands is a traditional Tai Chi practice where you work cooperatively with a partner to develop relaxation, balance, and physical sensitivity (often called "listening"). Rather than using physical force, this method is designed to help you cultivate vitality and a strong mind-body connection. Additional benefits include improved posture, reduced stress, and an enhanced ability to concentrate and focus.

Pilates 101

Pilates is wonderful for everybody at any age. Seniors, in particular, can really benefit from a Pilates practice. Changes in your balance, strength, flexibility, focus, and your breath are all areas you may notice have changed with age. Pilates at its core works on improving all of those things! Pilates is gentle enough to be right for you at any age and every exercise can be modified to meet you where your body is that day.
Please bring a mat if you have one!
