Mental Health Conference

September 17 & 18 from 8:00am-3:00pm
This two day comprehensive conference will feature keynote speakers. There will be break out sessions for social workers, nursing staff, and therapists.
The cost of the conference is $30 and includes all sessions, breakfast and lunch. Coffee will also be provided through The Connection Cafe.

Places to see and hear stories: Gies Memorial Stadium - three historic round barns - Cunningham Children’s Home 1895-present - 1867 Italianate Solon House (rents for $4,500 a month or purchase for $1,200,000) - UI President’s House that will no longer be the President’s House as of June, 2027 - Champaign County’s four Courthouses - tranquil Japan House - Roger Ebert’s childhood home - Cattle Bank founded 1858 is now Champaign County History Museum. Smaller places of interest will be described along the way.

Tai Chi Session 2
with Daniel Hall
Daniel Hall teaches Tai Chi for the Community Education Department at DACC. He has been a martial arts practitioner for 40+ years, focusing on the internal Chinese art of Tai Chi, as well as the arts of Hsing –I and Bagua. He has studied a variety of Chi-gung and Nei-gung systems and is also a certified Clear Tai Chi™ Level 1 instructor, Clear Tai Chi™ Internal Push Hands™ Level 1 Instructor andhas completed levels 1-4 of Clear Tai Chi™ (Fa Kung) Chi Healing training. As a Kinesiotherapist at the Danville VA, Dan taught Tai chi and Nei-gung for health and for stress reduction to Veterans for several years until retiring in 2020. He taught these skills to Veterans with a wide variety of physical and mental health issues, as ways of coping with the stresses and difficulties of life.
